Documentation
This is an information standard commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care to support the collection of regular and comprehensive data to enable person-centred, sustainable innovation for adult social care. The standard specifies a client level, core data set to enable the capture of adult social care activity across England, building on the pilot and voluntary submissions received to date.
Note that this information standard has evolved from the work undertaken by NHS Digital in respect of an existing aggregate data collection (DAPB2161 Guidance (NHS England), the Short and Long Term collection) but concentrates on mandating this core client-level data set in order to provide greater insight and linkage potential.
From 1 April 2023 providers in scope of this information standard must be able to collect the information as defined in the Technical Output Specification for local use.
From 1 July 2023 providers in scope of this information standard must begin submitting submissions in accordance with this standard.
- Short and Long Term Return (SALT)This information standard has evolved from the work undertaken by NHS England in respect of the above existing aggregate data collection (DAPB2161 Guidance).
