About this change
There are two types of change which cover:
- definitional changes that form the guidance for the Critical Care Minimum Data Set (CCMDS)
- Critical Care Discharge Status
- the addition of a value to the data element for Critical Care Discharge Status to support the flow of information in respect of organ transplants
- changes to the description associated with some data values – these do not change the meaning of the data value.
The full CCMDS has been incorporated into and is consistent with the ICNARC (Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre) data collection.
Out of scope
- neonates up to and including 28 days of age
- children treated in specialist paediatric critical care units
- coronary Care Units.
